Top Blogger Retreat – Thanks to LATISM and Disney

I don't want to end the year without writing this post and sharing with everyone one of the things that, along with others, is on my Thanksgiving list. Unfortunately, I couldn't do it sooner due to a lack of photos, but I'll use the ones that came out more or less clearly.
As I've mentioned in my previous posts, I'm a member of Latism – Latinos in Social Media, the largest online organization for Latinos in business, education, technology, and health. Last year, LATISM held the first Top Blogger Retreat, which was a major event because the Top Bloggers had the opportunity to attend the White House to discuss and contribute to issues of national interest, especially in education and health. The bloggers spoke and were heard by high-ranking government officials.

Due to the success and impact of this event, Latism organized a second Top Blogger Retreat, and this time they also chose me as a Top Blogger to attend this second retreat (retreat) that under the theme "What's Next" would encourage us to take that next step that we all want and are ready to take.
This time the retreat was held in New York City, specifically at the Waldorf Astoria, and began just two days before the annual conference, so after the retreat we were also able to attend the 5th Latism Conference.

Just the thought of sharing a few days with friends and others I'd just met was incredibly exciting! We all share several things in common, like a passion for blogging and using social media, and we were there because we all wanted to keep learning and be ready to take that next step with a firm footing.
Our mornings were quite educational. We shared our near-future goals, discussed "What's Next," and received great advice from the excellent speakers, who were a great source of inspiration. We were also invited to the Ford Foundation to hear from UN representatives about the various projects this global organization carries out to combat poverty around the world. Then, we headed to the UN facilities for one of the tours I'd always wanted to take but hadn't been able to until that day. What better way to do it than with friends?

They were two very productive days. Of course, we also had our moments of relaxation, where we went for a walk through the streets of New York, went to dinner with friends, walked around a lot like the locals, took the subway to attend the tennis tournament organized by Latism, and invited by Disney, we also went to see the premiere of the movie "The Fifth State."

The Fifth Estate premiered in October and is currently playing. The film's theme is based on the early days of Wikileaks, the platform where information considered secret is published, but which its sources wish to reveal and make public without revealing their names to avoid being compromised. This film focuses on the personality of Julian Lassanke, founder of Wikileaks, as well as his alliances and conflicts with his colleague Daniel Domscheit-Berg. A film with a fair amount of intrigue and very suitable for those who enjoy the drama genre.
In short, we had many unforgettable moments during this retreat. I feel truly honored to be part of this great group of Top Blogger friends and sisters, and my gratitude to Latism is endless. However, this event would not have been possible without the sponsors who always support Latism. A huge thank you to Disney!, who was one of the sponsors, and who sponsored my participation in this Top Blogger Retreat.
