Natural juices...a good way to start the day

A NutriBullet wasn't on my Christmas list, and I didn't know it was on my husband's either. So since Santa didn't bring his request, he bought it himself, and we've practically become addicted to natural juices! Thank goodness it's a very healthy addiction.

Natural juices can be made using a blender or juice extractor, but the NutriBullet, just as they say in their TV commercial, actually crushes absolutely everything. That is, it doesn't leave any peels or pieces uncrushed, and therefore makes a juice with tons of vitamins that are usually found in the peels and even the seeds.

For the past two weeks, we've been drinking a powerful juice every morning as part of our breakfast. I generally use whatever I have on hand, and if I add some sweet fruit, the taste of the vegetables isn't even noticeable. Plus, if you add a little natural peanut or almond butter, you'll have tons of energy for the day. Here's an example:

Spinach, carrots, raspberries or strawberries and pineapple.

This is the result! And if you need a little more sweetness, you can add a little honey to make it healthier than adding sugar.

My kids love the ones with more fruit, for example: pineapple, melon, carrots, vanilla yogurt, and a little milk. They just love them!

I've already started collecting more recipes on my Pinterest board and I'm sharing them here.

Keep in mind that, especially for children, it's much better to provide them with the vitamins they lack due to their reluctance to eat vegetables or fruits. And for us, it can even help us lose a few pounds, as it gives us a feeling of being satisfied and makes us not want to eat anymore. If that's your goal, I recommend adding a heaping teaspoon of flaxseed to your juices, as it reduces hunger, is high in fiber, and is also rich in Omega 3.

And you? Do you have a favorite juice recipe? How often do you make natural juices?

  1. My favorite juice is carrot and beet juice, but last week I bought one that had celery, ginger, lettuce, apples, honey, and pineapple… delicious!
