In my country we say…

Banderas

Mommy... I told Isaac that I really like avocado, and you know what he said? It's not called "palta" but "avocado"! Okay... here we go again. That's how it's said in Mexico and many other countries. In Peru, we say "palta," so you like avocado (part of a conversation with my seven-year-old son).

That's why I had in mind creating this page, and today we're starting "En mi pais se dice" (In My Country, They Say It), which is nothing more than a list of words we use in our respective countries of origin. Although all Hispanics speak Spanish, not all of us understand each other! Who hasn't experienced this so many times? At parties, restaurants, the grocery store, etc. I'm sure this list can grow little by little with everyone's help. So here we go!
